The Original Painting
The Artist’s Original of each piece takes weeks to create.
All of the messages and symbolism from the first creative ideas,
sketches and notes must be developed and wrestled with until the
painting speaks with authority of meaning and pleasure to the intellect
and eye of the viewer.
Acrylic / Oil on Canvas
Glicee is a French word pronounced “zhee-clay”;
a term used for the process of making fine art prints from a digital
source
using ink-jet printing. Continued development of “Giclee” as
a fine art reproduction technology has come to be associated with
higher quality archival-pigmented inks thereby meeting the desires
and needs of both artists and collectors.
The artist can repaint onto the Giclee
canvas adding a personalized touch to the piece just for a collector
at
a much-reduced price from that of the Original work of art.
Your Giclee is printed just for you when ordered…one at a
time. Particular attention to title and size is ordered with you
in mind. When received it will be stretched “gallery wrap” on
wooden stretcher bars. "Gallery wrap" means that the staples
or tacks holding the stretched canvas onto the larger wooden stretcher
bars are applied to the back of the stretcher bars not to the sides,
so the sides are clear of any hardware. At the studio Val Jean will
paint onto the canvas bringing it as close to the original as she
can, accenting certain features. Through this process, each painting
becomes unique in its own right.
Val Jean will also paint the sides a dark color used
from within a particular painting. The painting will then be sealed against
dust. It will have a plastic coated wire already attached and be
ready
to hang. Your framer can frame the painting if you wish.
